A Church, 300 Devices, and One Firewall: Byte Fusion’s Sophos Debut

For the past month, the Byte Fusion team has been buried in labs and virtual firewalls. But theory only takes you so far. Last week, theory met reality.

We just completed our first live deployment: transforming a church’s overloaded network into a secure, high-speed environment capable of supporting 250+ simultaneous users.

The Transformation: From Chaos to Control

The church’s philosophy is "This Is Home." Everyone is welcome, and everyone gets connected. But when 300 devices hit one unmanaged network, the "home" started to buckle: livestreams crashed, staff lost access, and security was an afterthought.

To fix this, we deployed the Sophos XGS 108W firewall. We built secure, invisible walls to organise traffic, ensuring the livestream never fights with guest Wi-Fi for speed.

The Result: Stability You Can See

Since the install, the church has run three consecutive services without a single glitch. We watched the Sophos dashboard prove that the network was finally breathing easy.

About Byte Fusion — Zero-drama IT for busy entrepreneurs

At Byte Fusion, we're a crew of friendly tech wizards who love two things: solving gnarly problems and keeping your systems calm, patched, backed up, and behaving. We do the hard stuff so you don't have to.

What We Do: From managed services (remote support, security, and firewalls) to entrepreneur solutions (white label websites and Shopify/Sage integrations), we make tech the least exciting part of your day.

The Founder's Philosophy: Dave started in IT decades ago and believes repeatable monthly value beats "once-off heroics." We take care of the heavy lifting up front, then keep everything humming on a simple, predictable monthly retainer.
